Teach Me This

Teach Me This is the sister piece to We Were Air as they both deal with the subject matter of paper and paper waste in the academic world. This image displays the textbooks that one student was mandated to purchase over three years in a program at a post-secondary institution. These textbook titles range from design theory to sustainable design practices for their interior design program. A total of 32 textbooks have been collected by this student over their current time spent in their program. These textbooks range in pages from 300-800 pages. These textbooks contain statements about sustainable design and environmentally friendly habits that we should adopt to save and preserve our planet. While these statements are helpful, they are printed on what once was a tree, what was once a breath of fresh air. With so many options today, such as online knowledge delivery, it is a haunting mystery as to why these textbooks are still printed on paper as they claim and inform people how to become more sustainable.
